In the News: Improved Health of the Chicago River System
"We've seen a big increase in the number of masks and gloves along the Chicago River including on the Chicago Riverwalk, we're hoping people will get the message to stop doing that and put it where it belongs," said Frisbie, likening keeping your litter with you to the Leave No Trace movement that is encouraged in natural areas. Frisbie also highlighted the improving health of the river and its wildlife. "The river is so much cleaner," she said.
Frisbie encouraged people to keep the river system litter free by joining the Summer Challenge to clean up trash on their block and in their communities.
