In her interview with Green Sense’s Robert Colangelo, Frisbie discussed how the Watershed Alliance works across jurisdictional boundaries to tackle intersecting environmental justice challenges, including pushing for substantial shifts in watershed governance and infrastructural development and maintenance. Spearheaded by Friends in 2020, one of the Watershed Alliance’s first major accomplishments was the creation of the Natural Solutions Tool, a data mapping web-tool for interrogating overlapping environmental, social, and public health challenges. Highlighting the Natural Solutions Tool, as well as the health of the Chicago River, Frisbie underscored Friends’ ongoing commitment to data-driven and intersectional approaches to far-reaching environmental challenges.
