Host Your Event at our Bridgehouse Museum
Our McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum offers one of the most unique and memorable locations for special events in the City and an exciting opportunity to incorporate the fascinating history Chicago and its river into your birthday, corporate retreat, private dinner, cocktail party, wedding, or bridge lift breakfast. With roughly 1,200 sq. ft. of indoor space and a capacity of 79 people plus the outdoor plaza on the booming Chicago Riverwalk, the Bridgehouse Museum in the perfect place for a perfect event.
Recently, the Bridgehouse Museum welcomed a lively and creative event on the plaza: a painting party called Liberty Strokes. This fun afternoon on the Riverwalk was organized by Creative Emergence who activated the Bridgehouse plaza for guests to paint wine and pint glasses while overlooking the glistening Main Stem of the Chicago River. Museum Director Josh Coles said, “We love hosting these kinds of special events which allow guests to experience the riverfront from a private setting, while getting them down to the water gives them a new perspective on the health of the river.”
Each season, from May through October, the Bridgehouse Museum is full of visitors, dynamic tours, and programming aimed at increasing public awareness on the history and future of the Chicago-Calumet River system as well as the fascinating bridges that span it.
