Flickinger named a Notable Leader in Sustainability
In April, Crain's Chicago Business named Friends’ Planning Director, Adam Flickinger, as one of the Notable Leaders in Sustainability for 2024. The notable leaders list includes 54 public, private, academic, and non-profit professionals throughout the Chicago area who are working “with the aim to help make our world greener.”
Among his numerous accomplishments, Crain’s lauded Flickinger’s leadership in creating natural solutions to improve community and ecological health with equity-focused river corridor planning strategies. He helped unite 27 public and private partners to create the Greater Chicago Watershed Alliance, which advances the use of natural solutions to improve community and ecological health. He also led the development of the award-winning Natural Solutions Tool, a publicly available mapping website that emerged from the collaboration of the Greater Chicago Watershed Alliance, which promotes expanded investments in nature-based solutions.
