Thank you, EPA Staff

In a letter addressed “To the civil servants of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency” published in the Chicago Sun Times on April 7, Friends of the Chicago River joined with 18 other leading environmental, social justice, and conservation organizations “to express our appreciation and support for the dedicated public servants of the EPA” for their tireless work amidst turbulent staffing cutbacks and policy changes. The letter states: “Please know that your work matters. We stand with you. We thank you. And we pledge to continue advocating for the resources, respect and support that civil servants like you so clearly deserve.”
In response to the letter, a representative of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 704 (AFGE), reached out to Friends to say the letter was widely shared amongst EPA staff and provided a much needed morale boost.
We encourage you to send a message of support to EPA staff too via the AFGE’s website.
