The Chicago River's health has come a long way. But the job isn't done yet.

Opened in 2006, the museum's popularity has grown as the river has improved.

Our annual summer cruise fundraiser for our McCormick Bridgehouse and Chicago River Museum was perfect: great weather, cool drinks, delicious food, interesting speakers and terrific guests. Take a look!

We were doing some scouting recently at River Park, 5100 N. Francisco Ave., and spotted these black-crowned night herons. They're gorgeous.

Hundreds of Lizard's tails were planted to improve fish habitat, bank integrity and water quality.

"Allowing the Trump International Hotel and Tower to continue to operate a system that traps and kills fish and other aquatic wildlife flies in the face of the momentum and investment surrounding a vibrant, healthy, revitalized Chicago River,” said Friends Executive Director Margaret Frisbie said.

The Chicago River Blue Awards honor the best in river-sensitive projects.

The Big Fish Ball of 2018 raised some $280,000.
